I'm not that great at picking them.

Funny, I just finished a novel with a visionary heroine, and she didn't have many visions either. It wasn't a major plot point, though, and it was otherwise enjoyable.Sarah Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13340312953393474963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21031350.post-1151855105372053432006-07-02T11:45:00.000-04:002006-07-02T11:45:00.000-04:00That sounds pretty mystical to me! Got any stock tips?

I don't know why I have such a dislike for visionary heroines, since there are phenomena that it's difficult to find a rational explanation for. Just one of my prejudices, I guess.

In any case, no book can hold a candle to one I copy edited for a literary agent years ago. The author kept telling the reader that one of the characters, a teenage girl, had visions, but the girl never was shown as having a single one in the course of what felt like a very long novel. The closest she ever came to having one was to assure the heroine that every thing would be all right. Somehow I don't think this book ever made it into print.Susan Higginbothamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13517907583894026599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21031350.post-1151852916703693662006-07-02T11:08:00.000-04:002006-07-02T11:08:00.000-04:00Thanks for the review! I'm going to go ahead and order a copy.

This is really strange, too, because I spent yesterday cleaning out a bunch of old papers from my desk, and among them I found an advertisement for White Lion, Red Dragon. I'd put it aside to look up on Amazon, and it's sitting on my desk right in front of me. Must be one of those mystical signs, no?Sarah Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13340312953393474963noreply@blogger.com
