Bennett Cerf, Eat Your Heart Out

Hugh and Bess now has a shiny new ISBN number: 978-0-6151-7187-6. All I'm waiting on now is finding someone who can help me with the cover art, and it'll be done. Hugh and Bess even has its own imprint, Onslow Press. Here's a picture of the founder in relaxation mode:

Has having a press named for him gone to Onslow's head? I'd say not yet, but this may be because Onslow is already quite fond of himself and needs very little additional encouragement.

Anyway, I rather like this ISBN number. The "6151" has an agreeable symmetry about it, and "7187" has a nice ring also, don't you think?

I like that final "6". It adds a definite note of sophistication to what is otherwise a playful and amusing number, especially with that rakish "0" near the beginning. :-)

Congratulations to Onslow on the founding of Onslow Press, as well as the ISBN number. Will Onslow be part of the logo for the new press, or is he more of a behind the scenes kind of guy?

Onslow sounds like a respectable name for a press. Callie, Tortie, or Max Press (the beasts chez moi) don't have the same ring to them.

Onslow Press does have a respectable ring to it. One imagines Mr Onslow as a top-hatted Victorian gentleman with an ample waistcoat :-)

Thanks, all!

I thought that Onslow would prefer to play a behind-the-scenes role (at least, I assume that's what he's signifying when he hides in the linen closet whenever a stranger comes to the house). Last night, however, while I was proofreading on the kitchen table, he hopped up there and starting inspecting the papers. So it may well be that he expects to play a strong editorial role at Onslow Press.

Please let us know when the new book is available. I have the Traitor's Wife on my TBR pile.

Well, he sure looks like a self respecting cat who wants nothing to do with those plebeian lolcats that haz cheezburger. :)

Thanks, Felicia!

Gabriele, Onslow is indeed a cat of immense self-respect.
